A42 / A42 Pre / A42 Mono
(Integrated / Preamplifier / Monoblock pair)
The A42 family has received a very simple, lovable, yet robust design made from solid bamboo. It is powered by an external power supply, which is the compromise compared to its bigger sibling, but its performance is outstanding in terms of value for money.
From the fall of 2020, the casing was switched to solid black walnut instead of bamboo. Some components have been upgraded, such as the Sileo volume control relays. It has a richer sound and greater atmosphere compared to the bamboo version. We have also increased the power output.
A42 (Integrated):
2 line-level inputs
Input sensitivity: 1.5V
Power output: 2x40W at 8 ohms, 2x60W at 4 ohms, with 0.05% distortion
Frequency response: 5Hz-70kHz (-1dB)
Power supply: 24V through an external power adapter, via a DC connector
The amplifier is Class D, with an efficiency of 90-95%, and has a bridged design
Volume control is done in 16 steps, with 3dB increments, using relays and high-precision (0.1%) resistors
The volume is displayed with 16 LEDs, and input selection is indicated with a bi-color LED
Optionally, it can be controlled with an infrared remote, offering two additional functions: mute and standby mode (where only the output stage is powered off)
The casing is made of solid bamboo, with dimensions of 230 x 230 x 68mm
A42 Pre (Preamplifier):
Features the relay volume control of the integrated version, plus an active output stage
3 RCA inputs
A42 Mono (Monoblock pair):
Monoblock power amplifier version, based on the technical foundation of the integrated version
Power supply is also 24V/90W, but it has RCA and XLR inputs per channel
Power output: 35W at 8 ohms, 50W at 4 ohms
