X42 DAP
(Digital Audio Player)
Over the years, we’ve increasingly suspected that USB is more of a limitation than an opportunity for computer-based music playback. DSD and other buzzwords haven’t helped much in this regard either. We’ve taken a different path, the prototype of which was already playing music at last year’s exhibition, and it has now taken its final form. It features a card-sized motherboard, lithium battery power supply, 2W power consumption, Linux operating system, and remote control via Wi-Fi. The latter can be managed from a phone, tablet, PC-in short, from any platform. The system is, of course, capable of playing HD recordings as well. Communication with the network or NAS can be configured through a web interface.
We believe its greatest potential is delivered through the S/PDIF output, but USB can also be used, and optionally, an analog output is available. The player comes in the bamboo housing of our A42 amplifier.
